After the Eurovision Song Contest has been cancelled because of the spread of the coronavirus, Rotterdam lost its chance to host the 2020 edition of the competition.
Ahmed Aboutaleb announced that it would cost the city of Rotterdam an additional 6.7 million euros to host the competition in 2021 as well. The city of council voted today if these additional costs will be funded or not.
The Rotterdam city of council approved to fund the additional 6.7 million euros to host next years Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam once again.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2021 is expected to take place in the week of 11th of May 2021.
There is still no official information from the EBU regarding the host city of the ESC 2021.
