Destination Eurovision cancelled for 2020!

French national broadcaster France 2 decided to cancel Destination Eurovision for selecting the French entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020.

Destination Eurovision selected the French entries for the 2018 and 2019 competitions. However in 2020 the national final won‘t be held because of low ratings. France 2 will select its entry internally.

Alexandra Redde-Amiel, the entertainment coordinator at France 2 stated: „We want more control over the process, with an internal selection. Several plans are discussed. We asked French writers and producers to send us songs and for the first time we also asked songs from international producers.“

The 2019 Destination Eurovision was watched by 1,9 million people.
